Bio
I first began using writing to explore the world of design as an architecture student at The Ohio State University. Graduating in 1988 with a B.S. in architecture and a minor in English literature, I moved to Seattle, and soon began to do freelance work as a design journalist.
I had regular assignments with the Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce, writing feature stories and columns covering a wide range of architecture, engineering and construction topics. During this time period I also worked at The University of Washington, where I proofread, formatted and edited both faculty and graduate level engineering publications.
Returning to Ohio in 1994, I continued to have regular feature articles in trade
publications, and contributed to company and association newsletters. I also became
